Gifts are an important feature of social life. They are the subtle way to express out feelings for our beloved ones. They work as the icing on the cake. Gifts add spice to our life. They could be given as a token of love, return of one's gratitude or to follow the traditions.

They bring happiness in our life. Memories get refreshed when we see a token of love given to us by others. Sometimes, the gifts given according to the needs fulfill the purpose of the receiver and it is the full of money back for the one who gives. Moreover, these gifts give a start to new relations and bonding. A small gift or token is the remembrance of love and affection we have for our loved ones.

But as the times passes, we move more towards the materialistic world. Time has made offering gifts a hard core tradition and an obligation on many occasions, marriages and social functions. Many a times the closeness of a relationship is measured by the size of the gift and its cost. Sometimes, a person is not financially strong enough to bear the expense of the gift , but because of its show off and considered as a status symbol, people have to buy such an expensive gift. This effort of buying a gift go in vain if the receiver does not like it or does not use it, because, sometimes, it does not match with the personality and choice of the receiver.


In a nutshell, it cannot be denied that the gifts are an important and valuable part of our life, but one should also appreciate the gifts given to and received from someone. This tradition keeps the relations alive and fresh.
